Please Read: Types of Meetings
Please take note of the Meeting type and Audience.
Meeting types are Open or Closed.
- Closed meetings aren’t as “Closed” as they sound! Closed simply means that attendance is limited to those who share our problem. If you believe you may suffer from sex addiction or compulsive sexual behavior, then you are welcome! Closed meetings are not open to journalists, spouses, or curious people.
- Open meetings are open to anyone interested in learning more about us. Currently the only open meetings in Austin are for men only. Open meetings may also be available through other SAA fellowships, or through Telemeetings (see next section).
Audience refers to the meeting attendees, which can be:
LGBTQ: All meetings welcome members of the LGBTQ community, within the stipulations discussed above.
If you are unable to attend a local meeting for any reason, the ISO of SAA lists dozens of telemeetings that take place throughout the day and night. Follow this link for a list of Telemeetings.
“An SAA group consists of two or more individuals who, using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of SAA, meet regularly for the purpose of recovering from their addictive sexual behavior. At our meetings, we read SAA literature and share our experience, strength and hope with each other, focusing on how the SAA program of recovery works in our lives.”
— Sex Addicts Anonymous, p. 10
Special Meetings For Licensed Caregivers and Clergy
Austin has two meetings for licensed professional caregivers (therapists and clergy and independent medical professionals). Meeting locations are never published. Please send an email to email@example.com, with instructions for us to contact you, or call the SAA Info Line: 512-956-6868 and leave voicemail with same. Verifiable credential information will be required for attendance. Your email or phone message will be answered confidentially by a licensed professional.
Monthly Intergroup Meeting
On the first Saturday of each month, the Austin SAA Intergroup holds a business meeting. All members of SAA are welcome to attend. Click here for meeting details.
